Mariana Silva of @anairam.brasil is September's Artist of the Month and we are so excited. Come check out her work tonight at First Friday!⁠ ⁠ @anairam.brasil is a Brazilian artist whose work explores earth, memory, ancestry, and transformation through clay sculpture and illustration. For this exhibition she's adapting her practice to the walls and architecture of our space, bringing illustrations made with clay that tell personal and ancestral stories.

50 years of community centered work deserves a proper celebration! We teamed up with our neighbors at @bloomgarcorp to brew a collaboration beer in honor of their 50th anniversary. ⁠ ⁠ Did you know that the BGC started with neighbors buying dollar shares 50 years ago because they wanted to see change in their community? And that spirit is still driving everything they do today. ⁠ ⁠ A portion of proceeds from this beer will support the Neighbors in Need Fund, which provides grants to neighbors right here in Bloomfield and Garfield. First, the name translates to “Shop Small" (or "shop at small stores) in Italian, in honor of Bloomfield’s Little Italy Days this weekend.⁠ ⁠ The label was designed by Tom Ndiaye and Kaz Spahr, winners of the Slammin' Cans mural competition of September 2025! It has the coolest little details, like a sign on that says," Thank you, but I'm not interested in Gutter Guards." Grab a 4-pack and find the little Easter eggs.⁠ ⁠ Sunday, we’re having our own little Italian celebration with @sprezzaturapgh that we’re calling Apertivo Hour! From 4-6 pm Sprezzatura will provide some Italian snacks and spreads to go along with the Italian Pilsner. See you there!

We tested our team (and Brian @mayorofgarfield) to see if they could tell the difference between all our of IPAs. Did the Two Frays team get them all right? Yes. And that might have been because we told them ahead of time that they were all IPAs and they just had to differeniate them (lesson learned). Brian did not have that information and he basically only drinks our Kolsch so it’s incredibly impressive that he got one right! We’ve also learned that although we have a bunch of IPAs on tap right now, they’re all quite different and you should try them all! Maybe do a taste test of your own?

This month's Thinkers & Drinkers, we're welcoming Ed Jackson, Folds of Honor Board Member and former Air Force Pilot, and Leo Robert, Regional Impact Officer and former Army Cavalry Scout, to talk about how Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to the families of fallen and seriously injured service members and first responders. Sacrifice doesn't end when the uniform comes off, and Folds of Honor is working to make the future a little more certain for the families carrying that weight.
